Join expert Dr. Tiffany Lago, M.D. of the National Institute of Mental Health for an in-depth discussion of anxiety disorders. This workshop will provide professionals an overview of the clinical characteristics and neurobiological underpinnings of the major anxiety disorders. Dr. Lago will review the underlying principals and strategies of treating anxiety disorders, including general psychopharmacological and psycho-therapeutic approaches. This talk will also describe the psychological and neural mechanisms underlying fear and anxiety. Recent findings of the studies in the Section of Neurobiology of Fear and Anxiety (SNFA) and how the findings generalize to the clinical and psychiatric field of anxiety will also be discussed.
